Over the last 8 years we have been carrying out more work overseas. We currently work with various equine charities across the world, and hold clinics in France, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Cyprus, Greece, Germany, Albania, Romania and South Africa.
We have worked with the World Equine Organisation in Tunisia to bring a sight of dental training to the equine fraternity around Tunis. This, combined with our visits to France, Spain, Portugal, Holland ,Romania, Belgium, Cyprus, Crete and throughout mainland Greece.
This means that we spend a lot of our year travelling.
Our main reason for working abroad is to bring some education to the equine owners in various parts of Europe.
Most of the equines we see in Greece are donkeys, mules or working ponies. These form the only source of income and transport for their owners. So you can see the importance of giving them an understanding of healthcare.
| We are very fortunate to be part of an ongoing programme in Greece to raise the awareness of equine health mainly for the working equines to try and gain for them a better quality of life. We have recently paid, through the Shires Equine Dental College, to bring a trainee over from the Island of Zakynthos to train at the College. This form of charitable work is fantastic as it means that the knowledge that we provide can be distributed locally to help the animals.|| |
